Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI)

The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) is a United States territory that consists of 14 islands located in the northwestern Pacific Ocean. Since 2020, we have served as a learning partner to the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC)- the only publicly funded healthcare system in the CNMI – on several projects including federally-funded needs assessments.

Most recently, we partnered with CHCC on a strengths and needs assessment as part of the US HRSA Rural Communities Opioid Response Program. As a result of the needs assessment, we are supporting the Blue Ribbon Consortium, a multi-stakeholder collective impact initiative charged with addressing substance use disorder in the CNMI. Activities have included visioning and strategy design facilitation, development of an evaluation plan for prevention, treatment, and recovery programs, and trainings on collective impact sustainability and the social determinants of health (SDoH).
